How to Floss

How excited are you to be a part of the future of floss? It’s exciting for us too, and we love welcoming people into the no cavities club!

Here are a few basics to get you started, but we know you’ve done your research. You’ve selected a 3-in-1 tool that is going to rock your flossing routine. Unlike waterpiks, the Slate Electric Flosser cleans between the teeth and massages the gums with its patented gum sweeps while 12,000 gentle sonic vibrations pulsate throughout your mouth each minute. Then, when the flossing is complete, flip it over and use the tongue scraper for a mouth that’s not just clean but Slate Clean!

Let’s get into the nitty-gritty. How do you use the Slate Electric Flosser to get the maximum amount of use out of your floss heads?

Use at least once a day for the ultimate Slate Clean feeling. Your mouth will thank you.

Step 1. Turn the flosser on by pushing the blue button on the bottom of the flosser.

Step 2. Grip the flosser high on the handle using the logo grip reference point.

Step 3. Begin flossing by inserting the floss head into your mouth and gently guiding the floss in a C shape between each tooth (watch the video above if you need more inspiration)

Step 4. Move the floss slowly from tongue to cheek, allowing the gum sweeps to scrub the teeth and massage the gums

Step 5. Flip the flosser over to use the tongue scraper. Press the back of the tongue and run the scraper to the front 3-5 times.

Step 6. Rinse and dry just like your toothbrush.

Your floss head should last about one week with routine twice-daily flossing. Once you get into your flossing groove, we have subscription options to have floss head packs mailed to you every one, two, or three months. You can find out more about subscription options here.
