Gum Sweep Features

Our patent-pending Gum Sweeps™ easily access, massage, stimulate, and clean the gums and teeth. This feature has strategically placed ribs and bristles that sweep away plaque and food particles your toothbrush leaves behind. Using them is easy: just glide the floss head back and forth from the front of the teeth to the back while you are flossing!

Tongue Scraper Features

Use nightly for fresher breath! Did you know that most bad breath-causing bacteria reside on the tongue's surface? While brushing helps, studies reveal that a tongue scraper can eliminate 30% more odor-causing bacteria than a toothbrush. Our Slate Electric Flosser boasts a dual-row rubber bristle tongue scraper that lifts and rakes the tongue's surface. It then finishes with a straight blade to squeegee away all the unwanted gunk. The scraper's shape mimics the natural curvature of an extended tongue.

Woven Floss Features

400 Woven Strands!

NON-TOXIC: No Teflon, PTFEs or PFAS!

*** For tight teeth, watch our "Roll & Sweep" HOW TO video!

Our floss heads are proven to stand the test of time. We recommend changing your floss head once a week, depending on tooth contact tightness and tooth or filling conditions. For optimal results, weekly replacement is ideal.

Eco-Friendly Details

By using Slate floss heads instead of single-use floss picks, you can prevent over 700 plastic floss picks from ending up in landfills every year. Our fully-recyclable boxes, bubble mailers, and compostable bags, further promote our mission to remain sustainable!

HOW TO VIDEOS

  1. Press the power button on the front of the flosser to turn it on.
  2. Hold the power button for 3-seconds to switch between vibration settings.
  3. Slide the floss between your teeth using our "roll and sweep" method (this helps you avoid breaking the floss).
  4. Move the floss head from the front to the back of your teeth, allowing the Gum Sweeps™ to scrub the teeth and massage the gums.
  5. Use the tongue scraper 3-5 times when you are finished flossing to remove the bacteria you disrupted!
  6. Rinse the floss head thoroughly and allow it to dry.
  7. Replace floss heads weekly! Those with tight teeth might need to replace floss heads every 3-5 days. Use our "Roll & Sweep" technique to get the longest use out of them!

Amazing, amazing, amazing, I am a regular flosser now!

I had always struggled with using dental floss. The floss would get slimy and slipped in my fingers while I used it, making it hard to hold, and I could never figure out how much floss to use. Sometimes I could not get my fingers far enough into the back of my mouth to get to the molars, the entire process was unpleasant and frustrating. I tried water piks, which take up a lot of space and are loud and require cleaning, which became tedious. I tried interdental piks with little wire brushes, which helped some but was frustrating trying to get to those back molars without stabbing the gum with the tip of the pik. None of these options were easy to do, and my motivation to use them was low.
Mind you, I was not a huge brusher of teeth either, but as I’m getting older, I worry about how my teeth will hold up as well as my heart health. The dentist says my teeth are not that bad, but I know they could be better kept with regular flossing and brushing.
I saw the advert for the Slate Flosser and while I liked the concept, I balked at the price. Could it really be worth that price? So I searched for a cheap option on Amazon, just to test it out. The $50 dollar option came with interchangeable heads (flosser, toothbrush, water pik), which was appealing, but the build quality was terrible. The flosser heads were very small and were made of plain hard plastic, unlike the Slate rubberized heads. When I used the unit, there was only one speed, and the hard plastic flosser head would bump against my teeth, which was extremely uncomfortable.
I decided to spring for the Slate. After all, I had exhausted all options and felt like I owed it to myself to give it a try. And I was not disappointed!
The unit was easy to hold in my hand, the rubber bumper on the flosser heads was comfortable in my mouth, and the gum sweeps that are at each end of the floss head prevent any hard plastic from hitting my teeth (and they massage the gums). But would I feel excited about flossing and brushing? It is a habit after all, and I did not have one for either habit.
I decided to dedicate flossing and brushing once a day at night before bed, just to see if I could get that habit down. So far, I’ve hit every night since I got the Slate and have been excited to use it every night! It’s so easy to use, I feel like there is serious dental hygiene going on. I even use it twice, just to be sure I got those back molars, then end with brushing.
I am still early on in using the unit, but I am pleased with the investment! The unit is easy and, dare I say, fun to use. I can’t wait to see what my dentist/hygienist has to say at my next check up, thank you so much for this amazing product!

Changing the Flossing Game

Went to the Pinners Conference over the weekend and ran into Brynn and her incredible team. I never would have thought I'd stop by a floss company's booth, but here we are – and I’m so glad I did!

I've struggled to make flossing a consistent habit over the years, though I’ve gotten better about it recently. This chance encounter felt like serendipity.

I had a million questions, and they took the time to walk me through what the Slate Flosser can do and how it could even replace my water pick. I wasn’t the easiest sell, but they patiently answered every question. Their passion and knowledge were clear, and the product's innovation truly won me over. I went home with the Slate Flosser and tried it that same night. MINDBLOWN.

It’s super easy to use, and the sonic technology takes it to the next level. After one use, I felt like I’d never truly experienced a clean mouth before – a good floss and tongue scrape really do make a difference!

Huge shoutout to the Slate team for creating such an incredible product and delivering a fantastic experience. They’ve got a loyal customer here!

I guess I'm a flosser now!

I really, really did not like flossing. I had tried other alternative ways that didn't require me to wrap floss around my finger, but none of them stuck and I hated the waste. There are times now when I am absolutely craving my Slate flosser. I hesitated on the purchase because of the price-- sometimes I get pulled into that mindset of "oh maybe throwing money at this will fix my problem" and usually it doesn't. Well, this time it really did. I love using my Slate flosser and my 3 year old is begging for his own. I am a convert and have been recommending it to everyone I know.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with our Slate Rechargeable Electric Flosser! We are thrilled to hear that you are a regular flosser now! We hope your 3 year old gets their own! Did someone say stocking stuffer? Happy Flossing!

How to use the Flosser for most effectiveness outcome.

The present YouTube instructions seem to be inadequate. It should show that once the floss head is through the interproximal contact point. the handle should be pulled with pressure toward the distal surface of one tooth and moved up and down vigorously, taking the floss subgingival You should then repeat the up and down motion pushing against the mesial surface of the adjacent tooth A recommendation of 5 or 6 strokes of the floss head on each surface would also improve getting the most effective result of removing the bacterial biofilm The patient should know that the biofilm (plaque) removal is the objective not just food particles

Thank you for your feedback, it has been sent to our team!
