When you're choosing a new way to care for your teeth and gums, it's easy to get lost in flashy packaging and big promises. So how do you know what actually works?
You look at who's vouching for it.
Slate isn't just loved by the people who use it every day; it's recognized by the dental industry itself. From hygienists to orthodontists to the editors who cover dental innovation for a living, Slate has been named an award-winning product again and again. In fact, Slate is the only electric flosser on the market to be honored with multiple dental industry awards, a distinction that sets it apart in a crowded oral care aisle.
Here's a look at the recognition Slate has earned and why it's a genuine signal of quality, not just marketing.
Why Dental Industry Awards Actually Matter
Anyone can put "award-winning" on a bottle. What makes Slate's recognition different is who's doing the awarding.
These aren't consumer polls or paid placements. They're panels of practicing hygienists, dentists, and orthodontists β the people who understand oral health at a clinical level β evaluating real innovation. When that group singles out a product, it means Slate isn't just convenient. It's effective, well-designed, and worth a place in your daily routine.
That's the difference between a product that's popular and a product the profession stands behind.
Slate's Dental Industry Awards
π 2025 Dental Innovator Award
Slate was named a Dental Innovator Award winner from Dental Economics, a recognition reserved for companies "meeting today's dental and hygiene challenges with fresh ideas and solutions." Slate was recognized as the world's only 3-in-1 electric flosser, combining flossing, gum stimulation, and tongue cleaning in a single, easy-to-use device.
π 2024 & 2025 Cellerant Best of Class Hygiene Award
Slate earned back-to-back recognition from the Cellerant Best of Class Hygiene Awards, one of the most respected honors in dental hygiene. Each year, a panel of practicing hygienists reviews the field's most innovative products, and Slate made the cut two years running! As one 2025 panelist put it, Slate "makes daily flossing effortless and effective, combining power, precision, and convenience in one sleek device."
π 2023 American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) New Products Showcase Award
Slate was recognized by orthodontists as a top-three winner in the AAO New Products Showcase Award. Slate's design, including our orthodontic floss head made specifically for patients with braces, addresses one of the biggest oral care challenges orthodontists see: helping patients floss effectively around brackets and wires.
π Catapult Vote of Confidence
Slate has also received a Catapult Vote of Confidence, a distinction awarded by Catapult Education after a rigorous, evidence-based review of the product's clinical merit and value to dental professionals and patients alike.
