Which floss heads should I choose?

Most customers will have great results with any of our THIN woven floss heads. Choose from Gray, Pink, Emerald, or Lilac colors in our untreated THIN floss.

For an added enamel-strengthening nano Hydroxyapatite benefits in a THIN floss, opt for our Blue nHA THIN floss heads.

If you have tight teeth, we think you'll love our new SMOOTH floss! It's specially designed to glide into snug spaces more easily.

If you have braces, you can use our special Braces floss heads! Once braces are off, you can easily transition back to a standard floss head style - all head styles and colors are interchangeable on all models of Slate flossers!

What is your floss made of?

Our floss is ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene woven floss, which makes it highly durable! It is not coated or waxed, and it does not contain any PTFEs, PFAs, teflon, or other chemicals.

You can rest assured that our floss is TOXIN FREE!

How long does each floss head last?

About one week!

Slate floss heads are reusable (like your toothbrush!) Just rinse and allow to dry after each use, and change out weekly (for regular, daily flossers) for best results.

Those with tight teeth or a lot of dental work may experience some fraying due to increased friction on the floss. We recommend switching to our new SMOOTH floss heads or swapping out the floss head every 3-5 days if needed.

Those that floss more casually might not need to change floss heads as often!

Use our "Roll & Sweep" technique to get the longest use out of your floss heads!

How long will a box of floss head refills last?

For consistent, daily flossers, a box of 20 floss head refills should last about 20 weeks, or 4-5 months!

If you sign up for a subscription for floss head refills with your purchase, you can customize the frequency of your refill shipments based on your needs!

Is the Slate Electric Flosser waterproof?

YES! The new rechargeable flosser has an IPX7 rating! This scale ranges from 0 (no protection) to 8 for the highest level of protection. An IPX7 rating ensures that the device can be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes without any damage.

You can safely use your Slate Electric Flosser in the shower if you'd like!

What is nano Hydroxyapatite?

Ethically sourced from 5% nano, nHa is a natural mineral that has remineralizing effects on enamel. We use this as a natural substitute to fluoride! It helps combat the negative effects of demineralization.

How does the braces head work?

Our braces/ortho floss heads are specially designed to allow you to floss easily, with one hand, and only one device!

The slim arms on the braces floss heads go between the wire and the tooth, while the silicone brushes on the sides clean debris away from the brackets.

How do you remove a floss head?

To remove a floss head, place your thumb on the back of the neck just below the tongue scraper and press down firmly on a hard surface until it pops off.

How do you connect a new floss head?

To connect a new floss head, slide the top of the flosser neck up through middle of the floss head and press firmly on the back of the tongue scraper until it snaps in on both sides (make sure the interacting logos on the flosser and the floss head are both pointing upward).

Is it safe to use on crowns or veneers?

Can you use the Slate Flosser with a lingual bar (permanent retainer)?

The Slate Electric Flosser cannot work with a permanent retainer at this time. You can still use it on your molars, where most cavities form!

Can you use the Slate Flosser with a bridge?

The Slate Electric Flosser, at this time, cannot work with a bridge. However, stay tuned, as this is in the works! 

Is shipping free?

We offer free shipping on all orders over $29 within in the United States.

Shipping costs for International orders will calculated at checkout, and include applicable duties and fees.

What is your return policy?

30-day money back guarantee!

Slate offers a 30-day return policy on your initial order, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, you will need your order number and email address used on the order.

To start a return, you can submit a request using this link: https://slateflosser.com/apps/redo/returns-portal/login.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label and instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Opened floss head refills are not eligible for a return.

REFUND POLICY
Can I use HSA/FSA to purchase Slate?

Yes! Slate partners with Sika Health to offer payment via HSA/FSA.

Look for the HSA/FSA Accepted mark on any approved Slate product page. When you add the approved item to your cart, select the One-Time Purchase option (subscription purchases are not eligible). Some Slate product bundles are not eligible due to non-medically necessary items being included in the bundle.

At checkout, select the Checkout as Guest option to ensure that payment information doesn't autofill from Shop Pay. Select Sika - Pay with your HSA/FSA as the Payment method. After clicking Pay Now, you will be redirected to Sika Health to complete a brief health questionnaire, get a letter of medical necessity (LMN) and complete your purchase securely.

How do I log in to manage my subscription?

You can enter the email address used on your subscription account here to get a login link sent directly to you.

If you don't see the verification email, please check Spam or Junk folders!

Upcoming Order emails are also sent 3 days prior to every shipment, and there is a link to manage your subscription settings in the email.

Once logged in to your subscription portal, you can swap products, add one-time extras, pause, skip, or cancel the subscription anytime.

How do I file a Warranty Claim?

The Slate Electric Flosser has a 1- year warranty from the date of purchase. If you are having any trouble with your Flosser, you can file a Warranty Claim using this link: https://slateflosser.com/apps/redo/returns-portal/login
